WHO WE ARE

Restoring Uganda’s Cultural Heritage — With Dignity, Safety & Generosity

Bulamu Charity Organisation is a community-rooted initiative based in the heart of Mabira, Uganda, dedicated to preserving culture, protecting children, and empowering local communities. At its core, Bulamu functions as a cultural centre that blends tradition with progress, ensuring that the wisdom and heritage of the region are passed on in safe, sustainable, and empowering ways.

We are working to preserve Uganda’s heritage by empowering children through cultural education, reforming traditional practices to protect dignity and safety, and developing sustainable eco-cultural initiatives that connect communities, healers, and future generations with pride and resilience.

How You Can Help

Together, we can preserve Uganda’s cultural heritage, empower children with identity and dignity, and build a future where tradition and modern life thrive side by side. Every action you take with Bulamu brings hope, resilience, and pride back to communities.

Donate

Your gift supports school cultural clubs, funds gift-giving festivals, and helps train healers in ethical practices—protecting children and preserving heritage.

Volunteer with Us

Join Bulamu as a volunteer or intern to teach, document traditions, or support cultural tourism. Your time and skills help inspire change and strengthen communities.

Partner with Us

Work with Bulamu as a corporate, faith, or academic partner. Together, we can host cultural festivals, build the Mabira Hub, and empower communities with dignity.

Our Impact

Core Areas

Our core areas reflect Bulamu’s mission to protect children, empower communities, and preserve culture. Through education, safe reforms, and eco-cultural initiatives, we connect heritage with modern life to build dignity and resilience for future generations.

Child Empowerment and Protection

We nurture children’s identity and pride through cultural clubs, storytelling, dance, and teacher training that bring heritage alive in classrooms.

Shrine Reform and Cultural Healing

We build safer communities by raising awareness through theatre, radio, and dialogue, while supporting survivors with healing and reintegration.

We work with traditional healers to professionalise practices, ensuring ethics, child protection, and dignity are at the heart of cultural healing.

Eco-Cultural Tourism and Community Livelihoods

We unite faith leaders and cultural custodians to foster understanding, peaceful coexistence, and models of harmony between belief and tradition.

Community Empowerment and Advocacy

We preserve endangered traditions through storytelling, camps, apprenticeships, and digital archiving, connecting elders and youth as cultural guardians.

Cultural Education and Awareness

We are developing a vibrant centre in Mabira Forest to host training, exhibitions, cultural tourism, and festivals that sustain Uganda’s heritage.
