Shrine Reform and Cultural Safety
Many communities still face the challenge of exploitative or harmful shrine practices that endanger vulnerable individuals, especially children.
Many communities still face the challenge of exploitative or harmful shrine practices that endanger vulnerable individuals, especially children.
Bulamu works hand in hand with traditional healers, elders, and faith leaders to reform these practices through dialogue, education, and cultural advocacy.
Our approach is respectful yet firm — we don’t aim to destroy culture, but to restore its integrity by upholding values of compassion, healing, and respect for life.
Key activities include:
Advocacy and awareness campaigns on child safety and human rights
Dialogues with traditional leaders to promote ethical practices
Training and certification for healers who embrace safe and lawful cultural methods
Rehabilitation and counselling support for victims of abuse
Through this work, we promote a culture that heals, not harms — where spirituality and humanity walk hand in hand.
