About Us
Bulamu Charity Organisation is a community-based cultural and humanitarian initiative located in Mabira, Uganda. We are dedicated to empowering children, reforming harmful traditional practices, preserving endangered cultural heritage, and promoting eco-cultural tourism as a pathway to sustainable development.
Who we Are
Founded from a deep respect for Uganda’s rich traditions and a vision for a more equitable future, Bulamu serves as both a cultural centre and a catalyst for social transformation. We work closely with elders, cultural practitioners, educators, and local leaders to revive valuable indigenous knowledge while addressing harmful customs that exploit or endanger vulnerable groups, especially children.
At Bulamu, we believe that culture can be a force for healing, empowerment, and unity. By documenting oral histories, traditional arts, and spiritual practices, we help communities reconnect with their roots while creating safe spaces for dialogue and reform. Through our child empowerment programs, we nurture creativity, education, and cultural pride among young people, preparing them to become the next generation of ethical leaders and cultural custodians.
Our eco-cultural tourism initiatives invite visitors to experience the authentic spirit of Mabira—its forests, traditions, and people—while directly supporting community livelihoods and environmental conservation.
Bulamu Charity Organisation stands for preserving heritage with purpose, blending tradition and modern advocacy to build a society that honours its past while protecting its future.
